Dr. Misner announced this project in May 2008 at the US National Conference in Orlando, Florida:

BNI has a golden opportunity to step in and fill the void that exists in most networking organizations by integrating our existing worldwide network with an online support system that addresses franchise management, member education, and global networking. We are on the precipice of change and we have the chance to lock-in our lead as the world’s largest networking organization for the next decade and beyond. This is a chance for BNI to work together as a team and truly “change the way the world does business” by integrating core technologies to meet the needs of a changing business environment.
